A common scenario in forest ecosystems is low nitrogen, while phosphorus and potassium are at ideal levels. Increase one and the others may decrease.

One of the main reasons for this is an incorrect nitrate/ammonium ratio. The nutrient ratio shifts as a natural result of the nutrient’s capacity to neutralize alkalizing sources such as organic bases (naturally produced from decomposition) or introduced from non-nitrogen controlled forestry products. In this situation, adding more nutrients would unnecessarily lead to a rise in phosphorus and a drop in potassium.

The first product of its kind, equilibrium™ ends this balancing act. It adjusts this ratio by converting ammonium into nitrate in order to reassert a higher nitrogen level without affecting potassium level.
